Capture the whole publication
Preserve URLs, profiles, dates, surrounding content, messages, search results, audience indicators and native media. Record how the material was discovered. Avoid reposting harmful content merely to document it.
Classify conduct carefully
False allegations, threats, privacy intrusion, impersonation, account compromise, copyright misuse and commercial rivalry require different analysis. UAE cyber legislation and platform rules may overlap, but not every offensive publication belongs in the same legal category.
Assess urgency and continued risk
Prioritise personal safety, active fraud, credential compromise, payment diversion and rapid mass distribution. Secure accounts and warn likely targets through authentic channels while the legal route is assessed.
Choose the reporting path
Depending on facts, options may involve the platform, host, registrar, search engine, technical service provider, police channel, regulator or formal legal process. Use precise, consistent facts and keep submission references.
Manage the public response
A rebuttal can correct the record or amplify the allegation. Compare silence, direct engagement, correction and public statement against audience, evidence, legal constraints and business objectives. Keep one approved chronology and spokesperson.
